I've finally gone through your XTech slides. Amazing stuff. Do you know if anyone out there already has a blog that exposes their posts (and comments) as jabber notifications?
This seems like such an obviously more scalable solution than half the world polling the other half's servers.
Well, we've just released a couple of sites with this functionality. They are done in a system called anyMeta, a 'thing' centered CMS. All 'things', like articles, instutions, people, blog posts, are exposed like that. Auto discoverable.
The WordPress-plugin is especially interesting when implementing the Prologue-theme. At www.marks.dk the plugin will soon be installed, though it's not a microblog-style... But then people can do with it whatever they want.
That's Danish! Dutch, you see, I can read by getting drunk and standing five paces back from the screen. Danish I can only read by taking sidelong glances whilst doing something else.

There's a Wordpress plugin to do it. WHether anyone's using it yet, I'm not so sure.

oh, we also made some gateway code so you can use XMPP stuff using just HTTP. A wordpress plugin, or any other site, could hook into that as well.
